1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of jmhfinancial.net and the services offered by JMH Financial Services LLC ("JMH," "we," "us"), a bookkeeping practice based in Fairfax County, Virginia. By using the site, you agree to these Terms. If you engage JMH as a client, your written proposal or engagement agreement governs the engagement and controls over these Terms wherever the two conflict.

2. Scope of services

JMH provides bookkeeping, payroll administration inside the client's own Gusto account, and financial reporting. We are not a CPA firm and do not provide tax preparation, tax filing, tax advice, audit, attest, legal or investment advisory services. We are not a reporting agent for any tax authority and never hold client funds. Year-end packages we prepare are for use by your own CPA or tax preparer. Content on this site, including articles, guides and pricing examples, is general information, not professional advice for your specific situation.

3. Engagements, fees and billing

• Ongoing services are billed as a flat monthly fee set in a written proposal. Figures shown on the site are starting points; the written proposal governs.
• Monthly fees are invoiced on the 1st of the month and due by the 3rd.
• Engagements are month to month and may be cancelled by either party with 30 days written notice.
• As of the effective date, general plans start at Solo ($199 per month), Essentials ($249), Growth ($599) and Portfolio ($999). Real estate plans start at Solo ($199), Active Agent ($299), Rental Investor ($349) and Portfolio ($999). Each starting price covers the account, transaction, entity, closing or property limits shown on the site; a rate above those limits is quoted in writing before billing changes.
• There is no setup fee on any monthly plan. Catch-up and clean-up work is quoted separately as a fixed fee before it begins, from $150 per month behind with a $450 minimum.
• Scheduled advisory sessions covering bookkeeping and business-finance questions are billed at $65 per hour in 30 minute blocks; Growth includes 1 hour and Portfolio 3 hours per month. Advisory never includes tax advice.
• Fees exclude applicable taxes and third-party software subscriptions. We may pause work on accounts with unpaid balances after reasonable notice.

4. Client portal and accounts

If you are issued client portal credentials, you are responsible for keeping them confidential and for activity under your account. Provide accurate, complete records; our work product depends on the information you supply. We may suspend access to protect the portal or other clients.

5. Acceptable use of the site

You agree not to misuse the site, including attempting to gain unauthorized access, interfering with its operation, scraping it at disruptive volume, or using it for unlawful purposes.

6. Intellectual property

The site's content, design and branding belong to JMH Financial Services LLC or its licensors. You may view and share links to our content; you may not republish it commercially without permission.

7. Third-party services

Our services rely on third-party platforms such as Intuit QuickBooks Online, Xero, Gusto, Financial Cents and Google. Your use of those platforms is governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their availability or conduct.

8. Disclaimers

The site is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, JMH will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages arising from use of the site or services. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose or, if you have paid nothing, one hundred dollars ($100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify JMH against claims arising from your misuse of the site or your breach of these Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute not resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts serving Fairfax County, Virginia.

12. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be construed to reflect the parties' original intent as nearly as possible, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version, with its effective date, will always be posted on this page. Continued use of the site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
